When I was grocery shopping the other day, I strolled down the nut aisle. I spotted some honey bbq pistachios that were seriously calling my name. But alas (I should've known better), the ingredients were less than desirable! So naturally, I had to devise my own!
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp. butter (or coconut oil)
2 cups shelled, raw pistachios
1 tsp. smoked paprika
1/2 tsp. sweet paprika
1/2 tsp. smoked seasoned salt (or just sea salt)
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
Mix all seasonings and sweetener in a small bowl.
Melt the butter in a saute pan.
Add the pistachios. Stir to coat.
Sprinkle seasoning mixture on top of nuts and stir until well combined.
Toast the nuts on medium low heat for about 3-5 minutes, stirring often to avoid burning.
Let cool on paper towel.
Store in an airtight container.
