Crunchy Cheese Chips

These are a great replacement for tortilla chips! Dip them in salsa, guacamole or taco dip!

Ingredients:

  • Shredded cheese- any flavor of choice (I've found best results with these varieties- but it will work with any cheese!)

  • Optional: seasonings such as garlic or onion powder, pepper italian seasoning, etc. (just don't add any salt- cheese itself is already salty enough for this recipe)

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. Evenly place little circular piles of cheese about 2-3 inches in diameter on the parchment. Sprinkle with seasoning if desired.

  4. Bake for 10-20 minutes- turning them over about halfway through the baking time. Look for when they begin to brown around the edges and look crispy. The time here varies greatly depending on the size of cheese piles you create and the type of cheese you've chosen.

  5. Let cool on paper towel or napkins to soak up any grease that melted out. As the chips cool, they will also crisp up some more.

  6. Store in airtight container at room temperature. Putting them in the fridge will decrease the crunch factor. Also be careful not to store the chips until they are 100% cooled off. Wrapping them up when they're still warm will also make them somewhat soft again.
